Dyslexia Simulation at Center School in Abington, PA
ââ¬Å"Put Yourself in the Shoes of an Individual with Dyslexiaâ⬠Center School And Pennsylvania Branch of the International Dyslexia Association Present: ââ¬Å"Put Yourself in the Shoes of an Individual with Dyslexiaâ⬠An Educational Simulation Program Tuesday, April 5, 2011, 7 p.m. ââ¬â 9 p.m. Center School 2450 Hamilton Avenue Abington, PA 19382 215-657-2200 o What is it like to have dyslexia? o How does it affect your daily life? o Simulation lets participants experience some of the challenges and frustrations faced by people with this language-based learning disability. o Six learning stations that present different language-related learning tasks encountered in the classroom. o Station leader will guide participants through an activity at each 10-minute station and lead a brief discussion. The International Dyslexia Association supports efforts to provide individuals with dyslexia with appropriate instruction and to identify these individuals at an early age. The Association and the Pennsylvania Branch, however, do not endorse any specific program, speaker, product, school, or instructional material, noting that there are a number of such which present the critical components of instruction as defined by IDA.
